This Cookie policy explains how Paks SL (“PAKS”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on paks.es (the “Site”) in line with EU law (including the ePrivacy Directive, as transposed into Spanish law through the Ley 34/2002 on information society services and e-commerce — “LSSI-CE”), the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and Spanish organic law 3/2018 on data protection (“LOPDGDD”). It should be read together with our Privacy policy and Terms and conditions.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and device identifiers. Together we refer to them as “cookies” unless we specify otherwise.
2. Who is responsible?
The data controller for personal data processed in connection with cookies on the Site is Paks SL, Spain. Contact: see our Contact page or privacy@paks.es for privacy-related requests.
3. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit the Site, we show a cookie consent dialog (with a dimmed background so the rest of the Site is not used until you choose) with equal options to reject non-essential cookies or accept all cookies we describe as optional. We do not use pre-ticked boxes for optional cookies. Your choice is stored locally on your device (see section 4) so we do not have to ask on every visit. You may change your mind at any time (section 9).
Strictly necessary cookies and similar storage do not require consent under EU rules, but we still explain them here for transparency.
4. Cookies and storage we use
The table below reflects our current practices. If we add new tools (for example analytics or advertising), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent before activating them.
4.1 Strictly necessary (no consent required)
- Cookie / storage name:
paks-cookie-consent(browser local storage, not an HTTP cookie). Purpose: remembers your cookie choices (accept / reject non-essential) and the version of this policy you saw. Duration: until you clear site data or use “Change cookie choice” on this page. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a compliant consent experience and respecting your settings (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and compliance with ePrivacy / LSSI-CE. - Session storage (order flow): on certain pages we may use
sessionStorage(e.g.paks-preorder-context) only for the duration of your browser session to pass non-sensitive context between pages after checkout. It is not used for advertising. Legal basis: performance of steps at your request prior to a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
4.2 Optional — only if you click “Accept all”
- Analytics / performance: we may load analytics scripts in the future to understand aggregate traffic (for example pages viewed and approximate region). Until such tools are enabled in our code, no analytics cookies are set by us. When enabled, they will only run after you accept optional cookies, and this table will name each provider, cookie, duration, and purpose.
- Marketing: we do not use marketing or advertising cookies on the Site at present. If that changes, we will obtain consent where required before activation.
4.3 Third-party content
We load fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). Google may receive technical data (such as IP address) when your browser requests those assets. That processing is governed by Google’s terms and privacy notice. If you reject non-essential cookies, we still load fonts today for design consistency; we do not use that choice to block first-party page loads. For maximum privacy you can block third-party requests in your browser or use reader modes; we may self-host fonts in a future update to reduce third-party calls.
When you use Stripe checkout, Stripe’s own cookies and policies apply on their domain; see Stripe’s documentation when you pay.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
For personal data processed via cookies: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for optional cookies; legitimate interests or legal obligation / contract as described above for strictly necessary and session flows; and where applicable performance of a contract for checkout-related processing on Stripe’s side.
6. Retention
Consent records in local storage remain until you clear them or withdraw consent. Session storage entries expire when you close the browser tab or window. Any future analytics cookies will have the retention periods listed in an updated table.
7. International transfers
If a future provider processes data outside the EEA, we will rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required and reflect that in our Privacy policy.
8. Your rights
You have the rights described in our Privacy policy (access, erasure, objection, complaint to the AEPD, etc.). For cookie-specific complaints, you may also contact your national data protection authority in the EEA.
9. Changing or withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time by clearing stored data for paks.es in your browser settings, or by using the button below. After that, the cookie consent dialog will appear again on your next visit so you can choose anew.
10. Updates
We may update this Cookie policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date will change; material changes may be highlighted on the Site or in the consent dialog.
